    5227 crores have been paid so far under the scheme

    It is noteworthy that Chhattisgarh Government is running an innovative scheme named Mahtari Vandan with the aim of promoting economic self-reliance and empowerment of women, strengthening their social and family status, removing gender discrimination and inequality. This scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 10 March 2024. This scheme has been implemented in the state from March 1, 2024.

    Under Mahtari Vandan Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month is being provided by the state government to about 70 lakh women of the state above 21 years of age. Till now, Rs 5227 crore has been paid to the beneficiary women in the state in 8 monthly installments through DBT. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will transfer the amount of the 9th installment to the accounts of the beneficiary women on October 25.
