    Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has sent BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s complaint against TMC MP Mahua Moitra to the Ethics Committee of Lok Sabha. Nishikant Dubey had written a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha regarding Mahua Moitra, who was surrounded by allegations of taking money and asking questions in the Parliament. Following the BJP MP’s allegations and a lawyer’s complaint to the CBI, Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar revealed that the language of Mahua’s questions resembled that of businessman Hiranandani. In a letter written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Dubey alleges that Mahua Moitra received gift and cash (Cash For Query) from businessman Darshan Hiranandani for asking questions in the House.

    ‘Bribery’ from an industrialist for asking questions

    Apart from the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Nishikant Dubey has also written a letter to the Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, requesting him to check the IP address of the ‘log-in credentials’ of MP Mahua Moitra on the website made for the members of the House. Dubey had written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday, accusing Moitra of taking ‘bribe’ from an industrialist to ask questions in Parliament.

    In a letter to Om Birla, Nishikant Dubey cited a letter received from lawyer Jai Ananth Dehadrai and said the lawyer has shared ‘concrete’ evidence that Mahua Moitra received ‘cash’ from industrialist Darshan Hiranandani for asking questions in Parliament. And have taken bribe as ‘gift’. In response to Dubey’s letter, Moitra said, “All parliamentary work of MPs is done by personal assistants (PAs), assistants, interns and a larger team.”

    Hiranandani group denies the allegations

    The TMC MP also asked the Information Technology Minister to share information about the training given to employees to ‘log in’.     The BJP leader claimed, “Moitra sharing the Lok Sabha log-in credentials with any external organization is a direct threat to national security.” He alleged that the Krishnanagar MP provided access to his log-in credentials for the Lok Sabha website to Darshan Hiranandani and Hiranandani Group so that they could use it for their personal gains.

    Meanwhile, TMC sources claimed that the lawyer who filed the complaint is a former aide of Moitra and that ‘personal enmity’ was used for ‘political vendetta’. Sources said there was an ongoing feud between Moitra and the lawyer over their pet dog and Moitra has filed several police complaints against the lawyer in the last six months, accusing him of trespassing, theft, obscene messages and misbehavior.
