Twitter fined Rs 50 lakh for not obeying central government’s order, know the whole matter
The Karnataka High Court on Friday rejected Twitter’s petition against the central government’s order. The Center had asked Twitter to block some accounts, tweets and URLs, which the company did not agree to. The order was challenged in court. The court said that the company’s petition has no basis. While hearing the case, Justice Krishna S. Dixit’s single bench imposed a fine of Rs 50 lakh on Twitter and directed to deposit the fine amount within 45 days. According to PTI report, Justice Dixit, while rejecting Twitter’s plea, said that he agreed with the Centre’s argument that the government has the power to block tweets and ban accounts. Between 10 different orders issued by the Central Government were challenged. Twitter had earlier claimed that the government had directed it to block 1474 Twitter accounts, 175 tweets, 256 URLs and one hashtag, but only the orders related to 39 URLs were challenged in the court. The court had reserved its decision in this case on April 21, which was pronounced today. Twitter had described the government orders as arbitrary and against freedom of expression. Despite knowing that there is a provision of 7 years imprisonment and fine for not following the Centre’s order, Twitter did not follow the orders. In its decision, the court told Twitter that you are a company worth billions of dollars, not a farmer or a common man who is not aware of the law. The Central Government Minister has also reacted to this decision. Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrashekhar has said that Twitter’s decision to challenge the government notice in court to block some accounts was actually part of the ‘fictitious story’ put forward by the company’s former CEO Jack Dorsey. All platforms hv to be in compliance with Indian law n @Twitter under @jack repeatedly refused to do so. In response to @GoI_MeitY ‘s notice for non-compliance they approached Karnataka High Court n judgment ✅Karnataka High Court has dismissed the petition filed by…— Rajeev Chandrasekhar (@Rajeev_GoI) June 30, 2023It is noteworthy that former Twitter CEO Dorsey had recently claimed that the Indian government had warned of shutting down the company in the country and raiding its employees if Twitter posts were not removed and Twitter accounts were not banned. Dorsey had claimed that the posts and accounts that were pressured to be removed were related to protests against agricultural laws and criticism of the government. The minister said that the court order makes it clear that all platforms should be banned in India. The law has to be followed.

Twitter banned 11 lakh accounts in India, also imposed limit on viewing posts
After Elon Musk took command of Twitter, this microblogging platform has remained in the news. The company’s monthly report has revealed that it has taken action on about 11 lakh Twitter accounts in India. They have been banned. According to news agency IANS, this action was taken after the assessment conducted between 26 April to 25 May. Earlier on Saturday, Elon Musk had said in a tweet that the company is imposing a limit on viewing posts. Verified accounts can now read 10 thousand posts daily. Unverified accounts will be able to read 1 thousand posts in a day. Musk said that cases of data theft and manipulation of the system were increasing on Twitter, due to which this step has been taken. The 11 lakh 32 thousand 228 accounts on which the company has taken action were found to be involved in cases related to child abuse and terrorism. This action has been taken according to the new IT Rules 2021. Other social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp also keep taking such actions. Last month too, Twitter had banned more than 25 lakh accounts in India. Elon Musk also plans to make Twitter a profitable company. Recently it was told that content creators can also earn money through advertisements on Twitter. Content creators will be paid for ads that appear in the reply section of their tweets. Regarding this, Elon Musk himself had told that in the coming few weeks, he will start paying money to the creators in exchange for the advertisements coming in the replies of Twitter users. The first round payment is $5 million. However, only the creator who is a verified user will be eligible. Advertisements will be given only to verified users. Ads will also be visible only to verified users who follow the creator. -
Users are earning lakhs of rupees on ‘X’ (Twitter)! In this way, you can also activate this feature in time.
YouTube is a favorite platform for creators, which showers them with a lot of money. The video sharing platform pays creators based on the views they get on their videos and the advertisements that appear on the videos. Something similar is now being seen on ‘X’ (earlier Twitter), where users are being paid for the advertisements shown on their tweets. The social media platform had recently started the ad revenue system and now users have started sharing the proof of their first earnings on ‘X’. Some of the reasons behind the launch of the ad revenue system on ‘X’ Within weeks, users started tweeting screenshots of their first ad earnings. ‘X’ users from many other countries including India have shared screenshots of their earnings in dollars. Even some people are claiming to earn more from this platform than Instagram and YouTube. Some Indian Twitter users are also among these users. You can see these tweets below:-My first payout from Twitter/X. Full transparency: I ended up signing up for a blue check on July 24th and getting monetized on July 27th, of course zero breakdown on how we got to this number lol, but hey at least it paid for itself. pic.twitter.com/OEG4Ou2PDz — MVG (@Modern VintageG) August 8, 2023Got a little surprise from Elon today – my first Twitter payout.Pretty cool to see creators being rewarded.Good move. Maybe likes are cash after all? pic.twitter.com/7XIRBc5oJa— Kieran Drew (@ItsKieranDrew) August 8, 2023Got my first payout from Twitter.I believe this is for Feb-June combined. Nothing to write home about but definitely a nice surprise.Glad they’re finally letting creators earn directly on the platform now. Thank you all for the support! pic.twitter.com/kWQ2ObOsgH — Okami Games (@Okami13_) August 8, 2023However, not all the screenshots being shared on X appear to be genuine. Some are showing earnings of several thousand dollars, which do not seem real. Some of these users do not even have thousands of followers. The good thing is that to earn in ‘X’ you do not need to share videos like YouTube and Instagram, but in this you can earn 15 million on your tweets. This can happen only by getting more views. X has set certain conditions to start earning. The first of these conditions is that before you can start earning, you must have a Blue subscription, that is, you must have a verification badge. After this you will have to activate Creator Subscription and Ads Revenue. Additionally, your tweets must have at least 15 million organic impressions in the last three months. After doing this, earning will start on the basis of lakhs of impressions. To claim the money received from ‘X’, you will have to go to the monetization option. Here you have to select the option of ‘Join and Setup Payouts’, after which you will be redirected to Stripes and you have to setup your account here. To withdraw money, you must have at least $50 in your account.
