  • Elon Musk Becomes 1st Person To Touch 200 Million Followers On X |

Tech billionaire Elon Musk on Thursday became the first person to reach 200 million followers on X social media platform, which he acquired in October 2022 for a whopping $44 billion. The X owner is currently followed by former US President Barack Obama at 131.9 million followers, and famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo at 113.2 million followers (as of October 3).

Popular singer Justin Bieber is at the fourth position with 110.3 million followers and Rihanna is in the fifth spot with 108.4 million followers. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently crossed the 100 million mark in the world — which was hailed by Musk — and has 102.4 million followers as of now.

Musk recently said that X now has more than 600 million monthly active users (MAUs), and around 300 million daily active users (DAUs). Reports surfaced recently, claiming that most of Musk’s followers “are fake and the count is bloated by millions of new, inactive accounts”. However, there has been no official confirmation about the claim.

According to the Tesla and SpaceX owner, X social media platform has become a group chat for Earth, with maximum traffic coming from all over the world. “X is the group chat for Earth,” Musk had posted. The tech billionaire aims to make it an “everything app” where people can post movies and TV shows and also make digital payments. Musk also claimed that X usage in the US has reached an all-time high.

Earlier this week, global investment firm Fidelity cut the value of its holding in Musk-run X (formerly Twitter) by a massive 78.7 per cent, which implies that the X social media platform is likely valued at just $9.4 billion.

According to the asset manager, X is now valued at less than a quarter of its $44 billion purchase price (at August end), reports TechCrunch which cited its filings. X, Fidelity or Musk did not comment on the report based on regulatory disclosures.

  • ‘Will Miss You Gabbar’: Netizens Get Emotional As Shikhar Dhawan Announces Retirement | cricket news

Cricket fans across the globe were left emotional when Indian cricket star Shikhar Dhawan, fondly known as “Gabbar,” announced his retirement from international cricket. Dhawan, a key figure in the Indian cricket team for over a decade, has been a fan favorite due to his aggressive batting style, iconic mustache, and infectious smile. His announcement sparked an outpouring of emotions on social media, with fans and fellow cricketers sharing their memories and best wishes for his future.

Dhawan’s retirement marks the end of an era in Indian cricket. Over his illustrious career, the left-handed opener made a significant impact, especially in limited-overs formats. Known for his explosive starts and ability to dominate bowlers, Dhawan played a crucial role in India’s successes, including winning the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013, where he was the tournament’s leading run-scorer. His performances in ICC tournaments, particularly his knack for scoring big runs in crucial matches, made him one of India’s most reliable batsmen in high-pressure situations.

As news of his retirement broke, the hashtag #ThankYouGabbar started trending on Twitter. Fans posted heartfelt messages, sharing their favorite memories of Dhawan on the field. Many recalled his iconic celebration style, where he would twirl his mustache and pat his thigh after taking a catch or scoring a century. Videos and photos of these moments flooded social media platforms, showcasing the immense love and admiration fans have for him.

    Shikhar Dhawan’s Astounding Career

Shikhar Dhawan, who made his debut for India in 2010, retires as one of only eight ODI batsmen to have scored over 5,000 runs with an average above 40 and a strike rate over 90. Among Indian players, only Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have achieved the same. Dhawan finished his ODI career with 6,793 runs in 167 matches, averaging 44.11 and striking at 91.35. His last ODI appearance was against Bangladesh in Chattogram in December 2022.

Dhawan’s career peaked in 2013, a standout year for him. He scored 1,162 runs in 26 ODIs, averaging 50.52 with a strike rate of 97.89. A highlight was his performance in the Champions Trophy, where he was the leading run-scorer with 363 runs in five innings, including two centuries, helping India win the title. This success came after a slow start to his ODI career in 2010 and 2011.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Dhawan played for several teams, including Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Punjab Kings. He is the second-highest run-scorer in IPL history, with 6,769 runs in 222 matches at a strike rate of 127.14, only behind Virat Kohli.

On the domestic front, Dhawan was an important part of Delhi’s Ranji Trophy success. He was a member of the Delhi team that won the title in the 2007–08 season, defeating Uttar Pradesh at the Wankhede Stadium. Earlier in his career, Dhawan was the top run-scorer at the Under-19 World Cup in 2004.

Although Dhawan’s departure from international cricket has left a void, his fans remain hopeful that he will continue to contribute to the sport, perhaps through coaching or mentoring young players. As “Gabbar” steps away from the international stage, he leaves behind a legacy of determination, sportsmanship, and countless memorable innings that will be cherished by cricket lovers for years to come.

  • Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s X Sued For $20 Million In Shares By Ex-Twitter Chairman |

New York: Billionaire Elon Musk-run X social media platform has been sued by a former Twitter board member for $20 million. Omid Kordestani, former Twitter (now called X) executive chairman, has sued the social media platform, claiming that Musk refused to cash out more than $20 million worth of shares that belong to him, according to reports.

Reports further said that Kordestani had received most of his compensation in stock but after Musk bought the company, he allegedly refused to pay him for those shares, according to the lawsuit.

Musk or X were yet to comment on the lawsuit filed in California Superior Court in San Francisco. Kordestani had joined Twitter’s board in 2015. He supervised the sale of the company to Musk in October 2022.

According to the lawsuit, the X platform “seeks to reap the benefits of Kordestani’s seven years of service to Twitter without paying him for it”.
The Musk-run platform “refuses to meet those obligations, adding to a long list of unpaid bills accruing under Musk’s watch,” the lawsuit added.

Earlier, Parag Agrawal, former CEO of Twitter (now called X), and three other employees sued Elon Musk for about $128 million in unpaid severance. Agrawal, along with ex-chief financial officer Ned Segal, former Twitter head of legal and policy Vijaya Gadde and former Twitter General Counsel, Sean Edgett, filed the lawsuit.

The lawsuit claimed that the Tesla CEO showed “special ire” towards them by “publicly vowing to withhold their severance payments of around $200 million”, when he took over Twitter in 2022 for $44 billion.

According to earlier reports, the three top executives had an exit package of more than $100 million when they left the company.

Musk earlier said that it is “patently absurd” that Apple isn’t smart enough to make its own AI, “yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security & privacy”.
