WhatsApp is introducing an AI-driven feature, ‘Writing Help,’ to refine outgoing messages without accessing user data. This forthcoming tool will enable users to write improved, grammatically correct, and more articulate messages, powered by Meta AI and processed within WhatsApp’s Private Processing system. Identified in the recent Android beta release (2.25.19.8), the feature is designed to boost communication quality while safeguarding user privacy. Similar to the AI-based message summaries already available, Writing Help will employ encrypted processing, preventing message data from leaving the device or being stored on Meta servers. This is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing effort to offer more intelligent communication tools without compromising user privacy or control.
