India’s digital payment revolution takes a giant leap forward at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. From February 16 to 20, NPCI has supercharged ‘UPI One World’ for overseas delegates from 40+ countries, granting frictionless UPI access without local mobile or banking ties.
Tailored for the event at Bharat Mandapam, this service dispenses with PPIs at NPCI’s strategic spots: Hall 14 pavilion and Indira Gandhi International Airport. The user-friendly CheckUPI app from Transcorp handles onboarding: input details, submit passport/visa, snap a selfie, set PIN—unique UPI ID issued immediately.
International cards fuel the wallet—₹25,000 max per load, twice a month (₹50,000 limit). Real-time P2M payments via QR scans work pan-India, ditching cash and exchange troubles.
Unused amounts transfer back compliant with forex norms. ‘UPI is the world’s foremost real-time payment system,’ declared Sohini Rayola, NPCI’s Growth Executive Director.
This pilot doesn’t just convenience summit-goers exploring India’s offerings; it positions UPI as a universal standard, blending tech innovation with everyday usability and foreshadowing widespread international adoption.
