Central Ministers voiced resounding support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pioneering efforts to embed AI in education, praising its alignment with India’s philosophical heritage and strategic imperatives. These accolades were shared in New Delhi media interactions on Monday.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan painted a vivid picture of AI’s expanding footprint in Indian classrooms. He celebrated the teacher app developed alongside Bharti Airtel Foundation, with its debut in November 2024, and the recent upgrade in tandem with CK-12 Foundation for superior digital learning support.
‘AI is transforming education across tiers in India today,’ Pradhan observed, crediting PM Modi’s directive to innovate while honoring cultural foundations. He recalled the PM’s stirring exhortation at Rashtrapati Bhavan to purge colonial influences by 2035, with NEP serving as the vehicle to embody India’s authentic educational identity.
In parallel, Arjun Ram Meghwal highlighted PM Modi’s pervasive messaging on national security, from legislative halls to ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcasts and beyond. This focus, he said, epitomizes governmental zeal for national defense.
Meghwal pointed to a seminar delving into Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Integral Humanism and its pertinence to AI-driven times. Discussions centered on leveraging Indian thought for ethical AI governance and equitable tech advancement.
As these initiatives gain momentum, they herald an era where AI empowers education without diluting cultural essence, fortifying India’s global stature in knowledge and security domains.
