UIDAI is preparing to release the E-Aadhaar app, a mobile application designed to streamline Aadhaar-related processes. The app is in its development phase, and once launched, it will allow users to perform four crucial tasks linked to their Aadhaar card directly from their mobile phones. The app will be available for both Android and Apple users. While the specific launch date is yet to be announced, the app will enable users to update their name, address, date of birth, and mobile number conveniently. This initiative by the government will offer considerable relief to citizens. According to UIDAI CEO Bhuvanesh Kumar, around 2,000 out of 1 lakh Aadhaar authentication devices have been upgraded to support the new system. The app seeks to eliminate the need for Aadhaar photocopies during hotel check-ins and the requirement to carry physical Aadhaar cards while traveling. This new app will help users confirm their identity digitally.
