IBM has launched a landmark initiative with the Sangam Infrastructure Innovation Center—its pioneering hub in India, embedded in the India Systems Development Lab campus. This strategic move aims to solidify India’s stature as a powerhouse for sophisticated infrastructure and AI advancements, serving local and global needs alike.
Functioning as an elite collaborative platform, the center merges IBM’s system architects and infra pros with an array of stakeholders: clients, ISVs, global integrators, GCCs, and ecosystem allies. Together, they pioneer AI solutions that harmonize hybrid cloud, advanced infra, and intelligent tech for robust, scalable business AI frameworks.
Managing Director Sandeep Patel of IBM India/South Asia noted, ‘At this pivotal AI phase for India, infrastructure determines innovation velocity and volume.’ With sectors modernizing for AI integration, the center highlights IBM’s enduring pledge, amplifying regional strengths in designing, building, and scaling solutions with global impact.
IBM ISDL VP Subathra Srinivasa Raghavan elaborated: ‘AI’s success mirrors its infrastructural strength.’ The hub leverages elite engineering and partnerships to drive expansive AI implementations, safeguarding performance, security, governance, and reliability.
Supporting evidence from IBM Institute for Business Value indicates 58% of Indian companies have upped infra investments for AI surge, with 19% growth eyed by 2025. Around 43% are advancing AI CoEs. This center positions IBM at the epicenter of India’s AI infrastructure renaissance.
