A major boost for India’s youth and industry came from Prime Minister Modi, who proclaimed a new National Centre of Excellence in Kanpur for aeronautics and defense training. Partnered with France via PM-SETU, the NSTI-based hub was spotlighted during bilateral innovation events with the French President.
Specializing in MRO, airport handling, and defense fabrication, the center will deliver elite training to support India’s aviation boom. It’s designed as a global-standard institute, fortifying the skills pipeline for expansive sectors.
Minister Jayant Chaudhary praised the vision: ‘This redefines ITIs under PM-SETU, creating top-tier aviation pros and advancing India-France tech partnerships.’ The LoI seals commitments for co-developed syllabi, training modules, reviews, exchanges, and mobility.
This extends a 2025 vocational MoU into practical realms like space and aviation. Formal agreements ahead will operationalize efforts. Amid rising air travel and defense indigenization, Kanpur’s role is pivotal, generating employment and expertise.
The initiative reflects a commitment to global-aligned skilling, preparing millions for futuristic jobs. It’s more than infrastructure—it’s empowerment, blending international collaboration with domestic goals for a vibrant, skilled economy.
