Breaking new ground, a white paper launched Tuesday asserts that Indian-origin professionals constitute 16 percent of the world’s AI talent, granting India a strategic advantage in the global race. Projections indicate this prowess could account for 20 percent of international GDP uplift in the next decade and a half.
The ‘AI for All: Catalyzing Jobs, Growth, and Opportunity’ report, rolled out at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 by Prosus with BCG and MeitY, pivots AI’s image from job-killer to growth engine, fortifying institutions and democratizing digital access.
Synthesized from expert consultations, it emphasizes that breakthroughs await through rigorous AI application and institutional embedding. India’s digital ecosystem—featuring Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, UPI, Account Aggregator, and ONDC—offers a replicable model for Global South nations to deploy AI ethically and effectively.
‘With solid digital infra and a massive AI talent base, our focus is institutional transformation for outcomes,’ remarked Abhishek Singh, MeitY Additional Secretary and IndiaAI CEO.
Chairman Rantala Chandrashekhar of the Center for the Digital Future advocated AI’s infusion across sectors like farming, schools, clinics, plants, and banking for job multiplication and productivity leaps. Prosus MD Sehraj Singh and BCG’s Vipin V concurred, stressing large-scale, results-oriented implementation as the differentiator.
This forward-looking paper not only maps policy pathways but inspires a vision where AI propels equitable progress, cementing India’s role as an innovation beacon.
