Microsoft has announced the end of free security support for Windows 10 after October 2025. This means users will need to pay for continued security updates, technical support, and software upgrades. While Windows 10 will remain functional, it will become increasingly vulnerable to security threats. To mitigate this, Microsoft is offering Extended Security Updates (ESU) at a cost of around ₹2500 (approximately $30) per year. The ESU includes essential security patches but not new features or technical support. Users with Microsoft Rewards Points can also avail of this service. Additionally, users can utilize OneDrive, offering 5GB of free storage, with 100GB available for an annual fee. For those unwilling to pay, installing and updating antivirus software, keeping software updated, avoiding suspicious links, and backing up data are vital security measures. Windows 11 provides a safer and more supported computing experience with improved features and performance.
