India’s official accession to Pax Silica on Friday underscores its rising clout in semiconductors and advanced tech. This US initiative seeks to harden global supply chains for chips and cutting-edge technologies.
During the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Ambassador Sergio Goor celebrated the decision as ‘strategically imperative.’ He foresaw Pax Silica molding the century’s tech-economic paradigm.
Emphasizing India’s prodigious skills and challenger status, Goor pointed to strides in critical minerals, backed by robust US involvement. ‘America will furnish trusted technologies to New Delhi, alive to regional geopolitics,’ he pledged.
Goor called the event ‘strikingly effective,’ brimming with Indo-US possibilities. ‘We look forward to seizing them,’ he vowed.
Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw affirmed India’s elevated stature worldwide. ‘Global trust soars due to our talent ocean and astute diplomacy—culminating in Pax Silica’s ink today,’ he noted.
Vaishnaw deemed the deal vital for semiconductor logistics, manufacturing, designing, and ecosystem buildup. ‘Electronics and semis sectors stand to gain immensely,’ he forecasted.
Progress updates included ten live plants, expansions afoot, and near-term production kickoff. ‘2nm chips are being crafted in India, birthing a full-fledged ecosystem. Pax Silica catalyzes this, uplifting the younger generation.’
The move secures partnerships with top economies, investment surges, and fortified chains, positioning India as a semiconductor powerhouse.
