Rapido’s Ownly Aims to Disrupt Food Delivery, Challenging Swiggy and Zomato

Rapido is making a move into the food delivery space with its new service, Ownly. The key selling point is a promise of food that is 15% cheaper than what is offered by Swiggy and Zomato. This cost reduction is possible because Rapido does not impose the standard 30% commission on restaurants, opting for a fixed fee per order. The limited delivery radius is also intended to streamline operations and speed up delivery times. Ownly is currently available in select locations within Bangalore, specifically in areas like Byrasandra, Madiwala (BTM) Layout, Tavarekere, Koramangala, and Hosur Sarjapura Road (HSR) Layout. Since its inception in 2015 with bike taxis, Rapido has expanded to include auto rickshaws, parcel delivery, third-party logistics, and cab services. The launch of Ownly is facilitated through Rapido’s subsidiary, Ctrlx Technologies.
