Reliance Jio has once again taken the lead over Airtel and Vodafone Idea in attracting new users. Data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) indicates that Jio added more than double the number of wireless subscribers compared to Bharti Airtel in June. While Jio saw strong growth, Vodafone Idea (Vi) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) continued to shed subscribers. In June, Jio added 1.9 million net wireless subscribers, while Airtel added only 763,482. Vi lost 217,816 subscribers, and BSNL lost 305,766 subscribers during the same period. The total wireless subscriber base in India grew by 2 million in June, reaching 1163 million. Jio’s wireless user base now exceeds 477 million, Airtel’s is over 391 million, and Vi’s is above 204.2 million. BSNL has a wireless user base of 90.5 million. Jio leads in wireless broadband subscribers with 483.13 million users, followed by Airtel with 294.92 million. Jio also led in 5G Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA) subscribers, adding 253,201, while Airtel added 201,781.
