Samsung is gearing up to launch its latest foldable device, with the initial event slated for the Chinese market. The official launch date is set for October 11, and a teaser image has been released. The device’s design remains under wraps, including the color options, with speculation about whether it will include the traditional red or black of previous W series phones. The teaser image suggests a gold-colored frame for the upcoming W26 model. Although Samsung has seen success in the foldable market, it hasn’t achieved the same level of dominance as brands like Huawei, Vivo, Honor, and Xiaomi. There are reports that Samsung might introduce its new trifold phone at the APEC summit. The company plans to exhibit the new model at an art exhibition during the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 21 to November 1. This new trifold phone is expected to build upon the design of existing Galaxy foldable phones, which utilize a bi-fold mechanism. If launched, Samsung’s trifold would be the second device of this type, following the Huawei Mate X. Though other companies have showcased trifold prototypes, they are not available for consumer purchase. The APEC 2025 summit is scheduled for October 31st to November 1st in South Korea.
