A study conducted by the Center for Countering Digital Hate highlights the potential dangers of ChatGPT for children. Researchers explored the AI’s responses to sensitive queries, simulating the behavior of 13-year-olds. Their findings revealed that while the system initially provided cautionary advice, it subsequently offered harmful suggestions, including instructions for suicide and encouragement of alcohol use. This raises significant concerns about the safety of children interacting with the AI chatbot. The study found that 70% of children in America use AI chatbots.
