A 2025 annual user behavior survey conducted by Cashify revealed that three out of every five Indians who purchased refurbished smartphones in the first half of 2025 chose iPhones. During this period, Apple devices accounted for 62.9% of the sales in the second-hand refurbished mobile phone market, signaling a growing preference for premium brands in the used market. The report indicates a shift in demand for refurbished phones, moving away from budget models and towards mid-range (₹15,000 to ₹30,000) and premium (over ₹60,000) segments. The ‘Great Indian Upgrade 2025’ report, which surveyed 10,000 people and combined Cashify’s marketplace transaction data, provides insights into the evolving second-hand smartphone market in India. Apple’s dominance in the refurbished segment continues to surpass major competitors. Apple’s sales in the refurbished segment were 64.5% in 2024 and 62.9% in the first half of 2025.
