WhatsApp is launching the ‘Remind Me’ feature for Android beta users, a tool to help users keep track of important messages and ensure timely responses. This feature targets users with busy lives who might miss essential communications. The ‘Remind Me’ feature lets users set reminders on different message types, including texts, images, videos, GIFs, audio, and documents. To activate a reminder, users need to long-press the message and tap the bell icon. From there, users can select from options like 2 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours or a custom time/date. At the scheduled time, a notification will be sent, showing the message’s content, chat name, and any media preview. Reminders can be easily removed by repeating the process and selecting the delete option. This feature aims to prevent users from overlooking vital information, serving as a direct notification system for essential documents, replies, and more. Alongside ‘Remind Me’, WhatsApp is also testing a ‘Quick Recap’ feature to provide summaries of unread chats, simplifying the process of identifying key information.
