Massive ‘No Kings’ protests swept across the United States on Saturday, with thousands of citizens expressing discontent with the Trump administration’s policies. On Sunday, President Donald Trump responded by posting a digitally altered video on Truth Social. The 19-second animation shows a figure labeled ‘King Trump’ piloting a fighter jet and showering mud onto anti-government demonstrators. This public display follows Trump’s earlier remarks in an interview where he disavowed being a king, while also blaming Democrats for a government shutdown and suggesting he could permanently cut programs they prioritized. The widespread protests focused on issues including immigration, national security, and education, with many participants viewing the administration as un-American and undemocratic. Independent Senator Bernie Sanders was among those who attended, underscoring the protesters’ patriotic motivations. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy supported the movement, stating that large-scale rallies galvanize individuals to voice their opinions. However, Republican figures have been critical, with some House leaders labeling the protesters with terms like ‘communists’ and ‘Marxists.’
