Aid Workers Threatened Amidst Violence Against Hindus in Bangladesh

The situation for Hindus in Bangladesh has taken a turn for the worse, with reports of escalating violence and hardship. After being displaced, they are now facing starvation, with aid workers facing threats for providing assistance. Hindu religious leader Gopinath Das Brahmachari and a team of 200 Hindu volunteers attempted to deliver aid to displaced Hindus in Aldadpur village on August 4th. However, armed Bangladeshi personnel harassed and threatened them, and the military and police arrived, halting the relief efforts. Brahmachari and senior leader Prosenjit Halder were taken aside by soldiers and threatened with arrest. Brahmachari expressed deep disappointment in the security forces and administration, stating they are actively working to thwart humanitarian efforts. Despite threats and surveillance, volunteers successfully distributed aid like rice, lentils, and clothing on the nights of August 5th and 6th.
