Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, as part of the Axiom Mission 4 crew, has been at the forefront of scientific endeavors in space. His primary focus includes investigating the impact of microgravity on various aspects. Shukla spearheaded experiments analyzing the effects of microgravity on plant development, cultivating microalgae for life support systems, and conducting crop seed research to identify plants best suited for space environments. The mission also encompasses studies on eye movement, mental health, muscle loss, and the effects of clothing on thermal regulation. Additionally, the crew is collecting data on cardiovascular systems, balance, smartphone sensor accuracy, and radiation exposure levels. The Acquired Equivalence Test, a cognitive experiment, is also a key part of the research.
