Bharat Band: Various organizations across the country have called for ‘Bharat Band’ on 21st August today, in protest of the Supreme Court’s decision on creamy layer in SC-ST reservation. Protests are being held by organizations in different states of the country. In Bihar, during the demonstration, there was a clash between police and protesters, after which the police resorted to lathi-charge. Meanwhile, water fountains were also released on the protesters from water cannons. During the lathi-charge, a policeman hit the SDM with a lathi (Police beat up SDM). The SDM on whom the policeman hit with the lathi is Patna’s SDM Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar.

During the demonstration (Bharat Bandh), there was a heated argument between the protesters and the police in Patna. Meanwhile, the police also lathi-charged the protesters. The traffic was disrupted due to the demonstration on the road, to remove which the police had to lathi-charge. During the charge, Patna SDM Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar was also present on the spot, on whom the policeman used a lathi. However, the lathi was used on the SDM by mistake.
On the lathi charge by the policeman, the SDM has termed it a human error and said that no disciplinary action will be taken against the policeman. Let us tell you that Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar is a 2020 batch IAS officer.
