Gautam Gambhir is the new coach of Team India: BCCI has given the responsibility of the new head coach of the Indian team to former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir. He will replace Rahul Dravid. Gautam Gambhir made Kolkata Knight Riders the champion of IPL-2024 a month and a half ago. He became the mentor of the Kolkata franchise this year. Under his mentorship, Gambhir led the Lucknow Super Giants to the playoffs for two consecutive seasons.

Gambhir won two titles as captain in IPL

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir was a part of India’s T20 World Cup victory in 2007 and ODI World Cup victory in 2011 as a player. He captained KKR for seven IPL seasons from 2011 to 2017. He also qualified for the playoffs five times. As a captain, Gambhir also won two titles in 2012 and 2014.
