BYD Seal EV: Chinese electric car manufacturer Build Your Dreams (BYD) is going to launch its third electric car Seal in India on March 5. However, before the official launch, technical details of this electric car have been revealed. According to the information, the company will launch it in India through CBU route. Its place in the company’s electric car range in India will be above Atto 3 SUV.

BYD Seal price
BYD Seal is going to be the flagship SUV of the company. As of now the brand only sells the e6 MPV and Atto3 crossover SUV. Their price is ₹ 29.15 lakh and ₹ 33.99 lakh respectively. Both these prices are ex-showroom.
India-spec BYD Sealed powertrain, specs and range
In India, the Seal will be offered with an 82.5kWh battery pack, capable of delivering a range of 570 km with a rear-wheel drive configuration. The permanent magnet synchronous motor installed on the rear axle can generate 230hp power and 360Nm torque. The company claims that this car weighing 2055 kg can accelerate from 0-100kph in just 5.9 seconds.
Like other BYD cars, its battery has BYD’s patented Blade Cell technology, it supports fast charging speed up to 150kW. Due to which it gets charged from 10-80 percent in 37 minutes. Using a regular 11kW AC charger, it takes 8.6 hours to charge from 0-100 percent. Although these specs are for the entry-level RWD variant, the dual-motor variant is likely to get an AWD system with 530hp and a range of 520km.
Features of BYD Seal
This electric car has a trademark rotating 15.6 inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker audio system and sport seats. Apart from this, the Seal gets front storage space and 400 liters of boot space at the rear. BYD India currently has cars like Atto 3 SUV and e6 MPV.
Globally, BYD has revealed several new electric cars that may also come to India. At present the company is developing its dealership network in India, but despite this there is good demand for the company’s cars in India. Now, BYD aims to compete with more premium vehicles in the luxury sedan segment with the Sealed.
