Mass demonstrations in Israel are advocating for a resolution to the war in Gaza that includes the release of all hostages, alive or deceased. Protesters are specifically requesting the assistance of former US President Donald Trump, hoping he can facilitate a deal. Trump has stated that more hostages are expected to be freed soon, as ceasefire talks continue between Israeli and Hamas representatives in Doha. He praised his envoy Steve Witkoff for his efforts. The discussions, focusing on a US-supported 60-day ceasefire, have been underway since early July. A Hamas spokesperson has warned that future temporary truces are contingent on a comprehensive agreement. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has criticized the international community’s response to the crisis in Gaza, emphasizing the need to halt US support for Israeli military actions.
