A significant operation in the Caribbean has resulted in the destruction of a suspected submarine carrying illegal drugs, officials confirmed Sunday. The White House revealed the submarine was heading towards the United States via a recognized narco-trafficking route. This successful interdiction, conducted last Thursday, claimed the lives of two individuals and represents the sixth U.S. strike against illicit vessels in the Caribbean recently. Previous operations under the Trump administration led to 27 fatalities. Donald Trump celebrated the mission, claiming on Truth Social that 25,000 American lives would have been lost had the submarine reached its destination. He described the vessel as “very large” and expressed pride in authorizing its destruction, ensuring the safety of U.S. forces. Trump declared a zero-tolerance policy for drug traffickers operating by sea or land. The two surviving individuals are expected to be returned to Ecuador and Colombia for legal processing. The Colombian President acknowledged the apprehension of his nation’s citizen, confirming they will be prosecuted under Colombian law.
