In a surprising statement, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has advised the public to see floods as a beneficial occurrence and to preserve the floodwaters. Speaking to the media, Asif proposed that people should store the water instead of expressing grievances over the flooding. He went as far as to recommend using containers such as tubs for water storage. The minister also addressed the public’s protests, stating that they were blocking roads. In addition to his remarks, Asif promoted the idea of constructing small dams as a quick solution.
