The death of Raphael Graven, a French video streamer known as Jean Pormanove, has ignited a controversy in France. Graven, 46, died during a livestream, leading to initial speculation of online harassment. The autopsy results, however, presented a different picture. No violence was found, and no physical injuries were present, leading investigators to suggest a medical cause or drug use. Graven had been receiving treatment for a thyroid condition and suffered from heart problems, as revealed in court. Before his death on the livestream, which many watched unfold, Graven had expressed his desire for the abuse to cease. Reports suggest Graven was subjected to physical violence and sleep deprivation. His unconscious state during the stream alarmed viewers, leading to the police finding him dead at his home. A witness claimed to have seen someone throw a water bottle at him while he was unresponsive. Le Monde reported Graven’s involvement in abusive and violent online content. The authorities stated that he had endured ongoing public abuse and humiliation in recent months. The investigation continues to uncover the full circumstances surrounding his death.
