Raipur. A delegation of about 70 Naxal victims from Bastar region of Chhattisgarh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence today. These people affected by Naxal violence shared their ordeal and demanded justice and rehabilitation. Before meeting the Home Minister, this group of Naxal victims also reached Jantar Mantar, where they put forth their problems before the general public. The aim of this movement was that development and peace should be given priority in Naxal-affected areas, and concrete steps should be taken to provide justice to the victims.
A victim said, “We have gathered courage to raise our voice in Delhi, inspired by the efforts and development work of the Chhattisgarh government. Now we hope that there will be permanent peace in our villages and we will be able to improve our lives again.”

This delegation will also meet President Draupadi Murmu on September 21. In this meeting, discussions will be held for permanent peace and development in Naxal-affected areas. The delegation members will submit a memorandum to the President, demanding deployment of security forces, speeding up development work, and rehabilitation of families affected by Naxal violence.
