President Erdogan, speaking at the UN General Assembly, expressed Turkey’s satisfaction with the ceasefire that followed heightened tensions between Pakistan and India in April, which had escalated into a conflict. Following this, he reiterated his views on how the Kashmir issue could be resolved. The Turkish President stated that the Kashmir issue should be resolved based on UN resolutions and through dialogue to ensure a better future for the people of Kashmir. He expressed hope for this outcome. This is not the first time the Turkish President has raised the Kashmir issue on an international platform. He has previously done so, including during a visit to Pakistan earlier this year, where he emphasized that the Kashmir issue should be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions, through dialogue, and keeping in mind the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He affirmed that Turkey stands with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters, as it always has.
