A 23-year-old Ukrainian woman, Iryna Zaruutsk, was murdered on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident took place on the Lynx Blue Line and was caught on camera. The assailant, identified as 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr., stabbed Zaruutsk. Zaruutsk, who was sitting on the train scrolling through her phone, was attacked without warning. After the assault, she collapsed and was declared dead on the train. Brown Jr. exited the train at the next stop and was later arrested. The police recovered the murder weapon, a knife, near the platform. Brown Jr. has a lengthy criminal record, including previous convictions for robbery. The investigation into the motive for the attack is ongoing.
