Widespread protests have broken out in France in response to President Emmanuel Macron’s selection of a new Prime Minister. Demonstrators caused disruptions by blocking roads and starting fires. Police utilized tear gas to disperse crowds in Paris and other areas of the country during Wednesday’s protests. The primary goal of the protesters was to put pressure on President Macron and to make it difficult for the newly appointed Prime Minister.
