In a significant blow to Pakistan’s propaganda efforts, the French Navy has officially debunked false claims made by a Pakistani media outlet concerning India’s Rafale fighter jets. Geo TV had reported that a French naval commander praised Pakistan’s air performance and stated that Indian Rafales were downed during Operation Sindoor. This narrative was presented as fact following India’s counter-terror operations. The French Navy swiftly responded via its official X account, labeling the report as containing ‘extensive misinformation and disinformation.’ They pointed out that the attributed quotes were fabricated and even the name of the officer, Captain Yvan Launay, was incorrect, with the outlet mistakenly identifying him as ‘Jacques Launay.’ The Pakistani media’s fabricated story, which suggested Chinese support aided Pakistan and that Captain Launay had spoken at an Indo-Pacific conference, has been categorically denied by France. This direct refutation from a credible international source effectively discredits Pakistan’s fabricated account of events.
