A new development has emerged in the Nimisha Priya case with Abdul Fattah Mahdi, brother of the deceased Talal, accusing Samuel Jerome, the mediator, of financial misconduct. Mahdi contests Jerome’s claims of being a lawyer and states he was merely acting as a representative for the accused’s family. Mahdi alleges Jerome collected exorbitant amounts of money, citing $40,000 as the latest sum, under the pretext of conducting negotiations. Furthermore, Mahdi claims he had no direct contact with Jerome and that Jerome even expressed congratulations after the president approved Nimisha’s execution order, implying a lack of genuine effort in the case.
