Google Layoffs: Giant tech company Google is once again laying off a large number of its employees. After laying off thousands of its employees from the hardware and engineering department, Google has now started laying off hundreds of employees from the advertising sales team. The company has not given information about the exact number as to how many employees will be laid off under this retrenchment.
What did Google say about the layoffs?
Google said in a statement, “Each year we go through a rigorous process to structure our team to provide the best service to our advertising customers. “As part of this, some roles are being eliminated globally.” The company has also said in its statement that the employees affected by this layoff will be able to apply for jobs in the team or elsewhere in Google.
Google has already made layoffs from these departments
Google laid off more than 1,000 employees from its Pixel, Nest, Fitbit, Google Assistant and core engineering divisions earlier this month. Fitbit co-founders James Park and Eric Friedman along with other executives are also leaving the company. Amazon has also decided to lay off employees in Prime Video and MGM Studio divisions. Meta has fired 60 Instagram employees.
