A boat carrying Greta Thunberg, part of a flotilla aiming to deliver aid to Gaza, was intercepted by the Israeli military. The ‘Madleen’ was en route to Gaza when intercepted early Monday. The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced the vessel was being redirected to Israel and that all passengers were safe. The ministry also highlighted the significant aid already entering Gaza via established humanitarian routes. The flotilla, which included food and medical supplies, set sail from Sicily. Reports from the Gaza Freedom Flotilla Coalition indicate the boat’s communication systems were disrupted before the interception. Activists reported experiencing a white irritant substance. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated he had ordered the interception to prevent the aid from reaching Gaza, which is under an Israeli blockade.
