A bizarre immigration fraud originating in Punjab has exposed a complex web of deception. A man attempting to obtain a visa to the UK was shocked to learn his wife, who resided in England, was listed as having 15 husbands. Further investigation revealed a sophisticated scheme where an immigration company utilized the woman’s ID to send 15 individuals to the UK under false pretenses. The woman herself had no knowledge of the scheme and was wrongly apprehended. The real husband of the woman lives in Rajpura, Punjab. The fraudulent operation was orchestrated by a couple running an immigration firm. They illicitly used the documents of the victim and his wife to facilitate the illegal immigration of 15 young men, falsely representing them as the woman’s husbands. The discovery resulted in the woman’s arrest in England, despite her innocence in the matter. The aggrieved husband, Bhinder Singh, reported the couple to the Rajpura police, leading to a formal complaint. He sought to join his wife and intended to travel to England with his son. His wife had sponsored his application. The immigration company, run by Prashant and Ruby, defrauded Bhinder Singh of ₹5.90 lakh, failing to secure his visa.
