On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held discussions. This meeting was announced on X by the Russian Embassy in India. Parallel to this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev during the World Food India 2025 event. Their discussions focused on strategies to strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, fertilizers, and food processing, with Modi expressing satisfaction with the dialogue. A PMO release indicated that the two leaders explored avenues for increasing collaboration in agriculture, fertilizers, food processing, and other areas of shared interest. Furthermore, Modi extended his greetings to President Vladimir Putin, and expressed his anticipation for the upcoming India-Russia Annual Summit in India. Addressing the World Food India 2025, Modi highlighted India’s attractiveness to global investors, particularly within the food industry, citing India’s unique blend of diversity, robust demand, and extensive scale.
