The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the identification process adhered to established procedures and technical specifications. MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the handling of the deceased was done with the highest standards of professionalism and respect. The Daily Mail article indicated instances of misidentification, causing distress to some families. The tragic incident, which occurred on June 12, involved a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, resulting in 260 fatalities. Post-crash investigations involved DNA analysis and facial recognition to identify and return the remains to the families.
