A meeting took place between External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and US State Secretary Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Washington, where they discussed the deepening of the India-US partnership. The discussions covered trade, security, critical technologies, connectivity, energy, and mobility. Jaishankar also noted his meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, underlining the mutual trust and comfort in the comprehensive strategic partnership. Furthermore, Jaishankar held discussions with US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon, focusing on the strategic importance of the India-US defense ties. Hegseth highlighted the successful integration of US defense items into India’s armed forces and the aim to expand industrial cooperation and co-production.
