Monday marked a historic moment for artificial intelligence as New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam hosted the kickoff of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 – a first-of-its-kind platform for the Global South. Distinguished guests from diverse nations converged, setting the stage for transformative AI dialogues.
India’s Vice President CP Radhakrishnan shared his enthusiastic greetings on X, saluting India’s vanguard efforts in pioneering a democratic AI future centered on humanity. Echoing the theme ‘Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya,’ his message spotlighted public welfare, accessibility, and global synergy as AI’s foundational elements.
Radhakrishnan articulated India’s vision to integrate the Global North’s tech expertise with the Global South’s expansive potential, driving universal advancement. Referencing PM Modi’s poignant Paris AI Summit remarks, he affirmed that our shared human destiny remains beyond mechanical grasp, necessitating responsible, people-oriented AI frameworks.
In his X address, PM Modi heartily welcomed an elite assembly of global leaders, industry pioneers, thinkers, regulators, scientists, and enthusiasts. The summit, he said, will enrich worldwide exchanges on AI’s spectrum – innovation, ethical usage, sectoral revolutions in education, health, farming, and governance.
Leveraging its 1.4 billion-strong populace, India’s digital ecosystem, startup vibrancy, and research excellence embody balanced AI pursuit. Modi anticipates the summit’s fruits will craft a future brimming with innovation, equity, and possibilities, redefining AI’s global narrative.
