Russia has put forward a proposal for the supply and local production of Su-57 fighter jets, marking a substantial boost for India’s defense. Further developments include anticipated deliveries of five S-400 “Triumf” surface-to-air missile systems to India by 2026, according to reports. Dmitry Shugayev of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, confirmed the ongoing negotiations for additional S-400 deliveries, highlighting the potential for expanding cooperation. India previously signed a $5.5 billion agreement in 2018 for five S-400 systems, with the final two units scheduled for delivery in 2026 and 2027. The S-400 systems are key to fortifying India’s air defense posture against adversaries like Pakistan and China.
