In light of the volatile security situation, the Indian Embassy in Iran has recommended that Indian citizens reconsider any non-essential travel plans to Iran. The advisory, released on Wednesday, reflects the growing unease in the region stemming from recent developments. The embassy emphasized the importance of staying informed about regional updates and adhering to advisories issued by Indian authorities. Indian nationals currently in Iran who wish to return home have available commercial flight and ferry options. This advisory follows a series of military actions. Israel initiated ‘Operation Rising Lion,’ which included bombing Iranian military and nuclear facilities. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks, and the United States also engaged in retaliatory strikes. The conflict concluded on June 24. The ongoing debate about Iran’s nuclear program, the collapse of the JCPOA in 2018, and Iran’s subsequent enrichment of uranium to higher levels are key factors. Additionally, a recent bill passed in Iran suspended cooperation with the IAEA.
