A major power breakdown at the Dhabeji Pumping Station has plunged Karachi into a severe water crisis, impacting numerous localities. The outage has left many areas without a regular water supply. The city is currently experiencing a shortfall of over 350 MGD, significantly impacting the already insufficient daily water availability. The K-III Pumping House, crucial for water distribution, has been out of service for an extended period due to the power failure and subsequent cable issues. K-Electric attributes the delay in repairs to rainwater accumulation. Additional supply interruptions stem from a breakdown at the Damloti Pumping Station, further worsening the situation for residents in various districts.
