Pakistan is grappling with the aftermath of intense rainfall, which has resulted in extensive flooding across the country. The Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara is severely impacted, with floodwaters inundating the entire complex. More than 100 people, mainly employees, are trapped inside the gurudwara premises. The Kartarpur Corridor Management has confirmed the complete submersion of the Gurudwara Darbar Sahib and the surrounding corridor area. Rescue efforts are actively deploying boats and a helicopter to assist the stranded individuals. The flooding is believed to be exacerbated by the breach of the Dhesi embankment near the Kartarpur Corridor, which was opened in 2019 and is situated close to the Pakistan-India border.
