Kolkata Police Detain Bangladeshi Model-Actor on Charges of Forgery and Deception

Shanta Paul, a Bangladeshi model and actor, is in custody in Kolkata following her arrest for alleged use of fake documents. Police investigations revealed that Paul had been utilizing forged Aadhaar, PAN, and Voter ID cards to live in India. She is also suspected of having entered into a digital marriage with Sahik Mohammad Ashraf, a Merchant Navy employee from Andhra Pradesh. Prior to her arrest, Paul had worked with an airline company and also rented properties jointly with Ashraf using the falsified documents. The authorities also seized several identity documents from her, including an admit card for a Bangladeshi secondary examination.
