Howard Lutnick, the United States Commerce Secretary, emphasized the need for India to align its trade practices with US interests, specifically urging the country to open its markets and refrain from actions detrimental to the US. He mentioned other countries, such as Switzerland and Brazil, as needing similar adjustments. Lutnick suggested that although these matters will eventually be settled, the process will be gradual, and nations like India must recognize the importance of cooperation with the President to gain access to the US market. This viewpoint was shared during a News Nation interview. A recent visit to the US by an Indian delegation, headed by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, focused on strengthening trade and investment links. The delegation held discussions with US Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer and US Ambassador-designate to India, Sergio Gor. Both parties agreed to continue discussions to finalize a mutually beneficial trade agreement.
