This assessment was shared during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Trump had previously given two weeks, ending on Monday, for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has already dismissed the possibility of a meeting, and Merz has also expressed doubts.
