The issue of seat sharing in Maharashtra Mahayuti has almost been resolved. After meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar have returned to Maharashtra, while Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is currently in Delhi and will return to Maharashtra soon. There was an extensive discussion on seat distribution in the late night meeting held at Shah’s house.

Sources said the seat sharing formula could be like this: BJP can contest on 156 seats, Shinde’s Shiv Sena can contest on 78 seats, Ajit Pawar’s NCP can contest on 54 seats, and no other party In case there is no winning candidate, you can get plus-minus at 5 places.

Amit Shah has said that the issue regarding some seats will be resolved at the state level. Apart from this, it has been decided to exchange some sitting seats of BJP, NCP and Shiv Sena, in which there will be anti-incumbency against the candidate. A joint statement of Mahayuti can also be issued today, Shah has asked everyone to participate in the campaign rapidly.

The last election was fought jointly by BJP and Shiv Sena. Even before the formation of the government, Uddhav Thackeray changed sides and became the CM in the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition government with the support of Congress-NCP. Later Shiv Sena and NCP broke away, and BJP, Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP together formed a grand coalition government, in which Eknath Shinde became the CM.

Voting in Maharashtra on 20th November

Elections will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase on November 20, in which voting will be held on all 288 seats. Nomination will start from October 22, which will continue till October 29. November 4 is the date for withdrawal of nominations, and election results will be declared on November 23.
